About This Place

Nestled at the Hemet-Ryan Airport, Hangar One Cafe offers a delightful blend of classic American comfort food and a unique aviation-inspired dining atmosphere that’s hard to find elsewhere. This charming breakfast and lunch spot welcomes locals and visitors alike with hearty plates and a warm, inviting ambiance surrounded by vintage warplane memorabilia and the thrilling sight of planes taking off just outside the windows.

The menu at Hangar One Cafe is a testament to satisfying, homestyle cooking done right. Whether you’re craving a savory start to your day or a fulfilling midday meal, signature dishes like the Biscuit and Gravy—a fluffy, buttery biscuit drenched in rich, creamy sausage gravy—and the Tango and Eggs provide hearty, soul-warming flavors that speak to old-fashioned American breakfasts. Fans of sandwiches will appreciate options like the Bacon Avocado Double Cheeseburger and the B52 Hot Dog Topped with Coleslaw Salad, each bursting with fresh, bold ingredients and perfectly balanced taste. The Ham Steak and Eggs with a Pancake is another standout, offering a satisfying combination of savory protein and sweet, tender pancakes that melt in your mouth.

Complement your meal with crispy, golden sides such as freshly cut French fries, fried zucchini, or cheesy smothered potatoes—each adding an extra layer of texture and flavor. Don’t miss finishing off with classic desserts like the luscious Banana Cream Pie or the comforting, nostalgic Old Fashioned Apple Pie, both of which perfectly capture that homemade goodness.

Beyond the incredible food, the ambiance elevates the dining experience at Hangar One Cafe. Imagine enjoying a relaxed meal on the outdoor patio, perched right beside the airport’s tarmac, as planes gracefully lift off against the sky—a scene both energizing and soothing. Inside, the walls tell a story with warplanes and aviation memorabilia creating a quirky, fun environment that feels like stepping into a treasure trove for aviation enthusiasts and casual diners alike.

Regular visitors rave about the attentive and friendly service, which feels as welcoming as catching up with a cherished relative who remembers your favorite order and keeps your coffee cup full. According to long-time patron James Ingram, the vibe is “always good and chill,” with quality homemade food and perfect portions that make every visit feel personal and satisfying. Another frequent diner, Kimberly Killam, shares how the café has become a cherished tradition for her and her husband, praising the perfectly cooked country fried steak and the relaxing joy of watching planes while enjoying phenomenal food.

We are here for Temecula Fest and stumbled across this place. It was a little tiny wait but was worth it! Sounds like maybe they will expand soon. I love the war planes memorabilia and planes all over the restaurant and being able to watch the planes lift off outside. Definitely coming back. Bought the cute shirts and mug too! Roast dip was great and the zucchini fries, burger and onion rings were good too. Coming back for breakfast specials!

Always a good and chill time here. Quality homemade food at a fair price and perfect portions. Service has always been like I'm hanging out with my fun aunt, that also keeps the coffee and water full! My favorite place for a bit quieter breakfast and sights, both times I've been plans have taxid around and fly off.

If you are looking for a fun experience, dining at an airport, try the Hanger One Café at Hemet Airport. They have inside and outside dining options. The food is very good, and most of the clientele are locals who know the quality of dining here. I’m a pilot and flew in to have lunch. I’ve been coming here for years. If you fly in, there’s easy access for the ramp with transient parking to the west. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is what you would expect in a small town excellent dining venue. Fly in or drive. You won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I had made it a tradition to come here every other Thursday for breakfast. The atmosphere is one of a kind there is inside seating or outside on the back patio which sits on the tarmac for the airport. Such a relaxing feeling to sit and watch planes and enjoy a phenomenal meal. I LOVE country fried steak and theirs is delicious and cooked perfectly my husband gets the creamed chipped beef on toast with an egg (Their Thursday morning special)and loves it...this from the man who is not a breakfast person. The staff is sooo friendly and polite it feels like having breakfast with long time friends. Definitely a hidden gem in this town!

This cafe is a regular stop for my motorcycle group. If you like small general aviation and good cafe style food, Bambi's is the place to be. Great food, great servers. Definitely a keeper!
